Join the Woodside Marketing Team

Are you a talented writer who would like to get experience in multiple industries producing content and learning more about how each piece plays a unique role in a company’s marketing strategy?

This semester-long internship will give you insights on marketing strategy execution for real estate, health and wellness, restaurants and more. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven content marketing intern with strong writing skills who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to work as part of a skilled team to gain valuable experience translating your writing skills into effective digital marketing tactics.

The digital content intern will assist in the execution of content marketing campaigns for five companies within Woodside Communities, with a strong focus on writing. Applicants should be comfortable taking direction from other team members and should also expect to take the initiative to learn about current and emerging digital marketing trends.

This individual should be available for the entire semester, should expect to work 8 hours each week, and should plan to attend sales and marketing meetings at least once per month.

This is an external internship to obtain credits (non-paid).

A Day in the Life

The work you’ll do will vary, and may be heavier in some areas than others. The tasks below are an example of some of the ways you’ll contribute to Woodside’s 2020 marketing tactics:

 

  • Content creation for multiple website blogs, learning SEO best practices to optimize your content for organic search traffic
  • Produce and release press releases
  • Develop content for multiple monthly email newsletter campaigns
  • Write and optimize website copy
  • Produce organic social media editorial content calendars and coordinate with design for the production of relevant and engaging graphics
  • Curate, research and maintain local calendars of events
  • Create and share reports on your efforts, and learn to track back the ROI of your content
  • Much more!

Is It You We’re Looking For?

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should have the following qualifications:

 

  • Be pursuing a degree in English, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with popular social media channels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Quick study who is excited to learn and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work
  • Willingness to share ideas, participate in strategic conversations and receive constructive criticism
  • Positive disposition with a team player attitude
  • Good sense of humor required to work well with the “professionals” pictured here
