Woodside has been proud to welcome residents from across the country for almost 30 years that bring passions as unique as they are to our community. Whether you choose to connect with groups inside the community to bolster the Aiken, SC area, or opt to continue supporting a charity you’ve supported for years, the opportunities to give back here are limitless.

Giving Back: Southern Living Inspired Home Tour

  • Woodside’s Southern Living Inspired Home Tour

Woodside, one of only 14 Southern Living Inspired Communities, is excited to host its very first Southern Living Inspired Home Tour! The tour, which runs weekends from April 21 through May 29, is expected to draw roughly 10,000 visitors over the course of its six weekends. Upon realizing the reach of the Southern Living brand, and the traffic the tour would draw, Woodside instantly recognized the potential this tour had to make a huge positive impact on charitable organizations. For that reason, with the help of Woodside’s own Women of Woodside, three charities were selected to split all proceeds from the Southern Living Inspired Home Tour. Scroll through to learn more about each charity, and to support them by joining us for our Southern Living Inspired Home Tour,

  • Saratoga WarHorse

Saratoga WarHorse Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization formed to assist military veterans who are experiencing invisible, psychological wounds by providing a confidential, unique experience using rescued and retired off-the-track Thoroughbred racehorses. The organization’s three-day program culminates with a powerful “Connection” between the horse and veteran, both warriors in their own right, and both with parallel life experiences. This connection helps both find new purpose after their service.

  • ALS Association South Carolina Chapter

The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

  • Operation FINALLY HOME

Operation FINALLY HOME is a national, non-profit organization with a unique network of experienced builders, suppliers, and supporters dedicated to building homes for wounded, ill or injured veterans, surviving spouses and their families. They bring together homebuilders, the military and communities to build custom mortgage-free homes for America’s military heroes and the widows of the fallen, those who have worn America’s uniform and sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms and values, providing a strong foundation to help them move forward with their lives.

The Women of Woodside is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization comprised of dedicated ladies bonding together for social and community service activities. During the year, you can find them organizing volunteer efforts for charities like American Red Cross, Golden Harvest Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity, or providing services directly to Woodside residents in need, like running errands, providing transportation, and delivering meals. (Their efforts in 2015 alone raised $101,000 in funds, supplies and donations that went back to our local community!) These ladies are also very actively involved in supporting resident group activities throughout the year, and their events are some of the most highly anticipated each year. Now in their 27th year, they have organized nine book clubs, a couples’ Bridge group, an active Singles Group, a Garden Club, and an Out-to-Lunch Bunch to bring members together. To learn more about this group of ladies affecting change in a big way, read our blog post here!

“We were able to help start a 501(c)3 Corporation last year to help support The Reserve Club employee’s by providing them with scholarships. ”
