What makes a community a great place to call home goes beyond the homes themselves. It is also about the people who live there, the organizations they support, and the ways they show up for their community. In Woodside, giving back is one of the many ways residents and team members stay connected to the greater Aiken, South Carolina community.
Throughout the year, Woodside residents, charitable organizations, and the Woodside Communities team contribute their time, resources, and efforts to causes across Aiken. From supporting local families to volunteering with organizations that address food insecurity, these initiatives reflect a commitment to making a difference beyond the gates of our community.
Women of Woodside: 38 Years of Giving Back
One of the most established examples of community involvement at Woodside is the Women of Woodside (W.O.W.). Since its beginning in 1988, the organization has brought residents together through fundraising, volunteer opportunities, and charitable outreach throughout Aiken.
W.O.W. supports local organizations and initiatives that serve children, families, seniors, and other members of the community. Its outreach includes school supplies and clothing donations, holiday assistance, food bank support, and volunteer service at local events.
The organization’s impact continues to grow. During fiscal year 2025–2026, Women of Woodside contributed $90,073.46 to local charitable and civic organizations. Since its founding, it has contributed more than $2.2 million to support causes throughout the area. Those numbers represent years of residents working together to support the place they call home. Through its charitable efforts, W.O.W. offers Woodside residents an opportunity to build relationships while helping meet needs across Aiken, South Carolina.

Lending a Hand at Golden Harvest Food Bank
Food insecurity affects families in communities throughout the country, including right here in Aiken. Golden Harvest Food Bank works with community partners to help get food to people who need it, and the Woodside Communities team has contributed to that work through hands-on volunteering.
During a volunteer visit to Golden Harvest Food Bank in Aiken, the Woodside Communities team helped sort and pack goods for distribution. The team also helped achieve a record for the most goods packed and ready to ship in Aiken, making the day a particularly meaningful one for everyone involved.
Golden Harvest relies on partnerships, donations, and volunteers to help move food from its facilities to hunger relief partners and the people they serve. Efforts like these are a reminder that community involvement does not always require a large fundraising event. Giving a few hours of time and working alongside others can make a tangible difference.

Neighbors Supporting Neighbors
Giving back at Woodside takes many forms. Alongside organized charitable initiatives, residents and community groups find opportunities throughout the year to support causes close to home.
From fundraising efforts connected to The Reserve Club to neighborhood donation drives and support for great organizations such as Tunnel to Towers, a 9/11 memorial foundation helping first responders and their families, these efforts bring people together around shared causes. Holiday collections are the norm around Woodside and help provide families with essentials and seasonal support when they need it most.
Each initiative has its own purpose. These efforts also give residents different ways to participate. Some may prefer hands-on volunteer work, while others contribute through fundraising, donations, or helping organize a community initiative. There is no single way to make a difference, and every effort can play a part. We are grateful to the residents, volunteers, charitable groups, and Woodside Communities team members who continue to give back. Their involvement is an important part of the relationship between Woodside and the city we are proud to call home.
