Recently, an exciting announcement was made that Southeastern Development Associates, a national commercial and retail developer based in nearby Augusta, GA, has acquired the Aiken Mall with plans to convert it into an outdoor festival mall, which will feature outdoor shopping, green spaces and common areas for concerts, events, and festivals.

Aiken Mayor Rick Osbon, and other City leaders, planners and representatives, recently visited Shelter Cove Towne Centre, a similarly designed shopping and dining center by Southeastern Development Associates. This dedication to growth that is well-planned and provides an amenity that will be welcomed and used by residents along with the willingness to partner public and private efforts, is one of the many reasons Woodside and Aiken residents are proud to call this city their home, and are so supportive and enthusiastic about this developing project!
